It’s true! Think about it – your face is the very first thing someone sees. The eyes are the focal point, so you want to play them up and draw as much attention to them as possible.

By doing this, you’re drawing attention away from any other areas of your face that may be “fuller” like puffy cheeks or a double chin. This will also help camouflage other issues like a big nose or too-thin lips by drawing the attention to the eyes first.

Choose the Best Color for Your Eyes

First, you’ll need to choose the most flattering shades of eye shadow to play up your eyes. This will depend on your eye color:

Blue eyes – choose shades of brown, copper, coral, and bronze
Green eyes – wear shades of purple, pink, or rose gold
Brown eyes – wear intense shades of blue, green, purple or gold
Hazel eyes – Try pink, fuchsia, copper, gold, purple, or green shades

Define with Eye Liner + Mascara

Next, line with a coordinating eye liner or a neutral like black or charcoal.

Then, curl your lashes and apply mascara to really define the eye as the focal point of your face.

Don’t Forget the Brows

Finally, define the brows with a shade of brow pencil that is close to your own brow color, filling in any sparse areas.
