As a busy mom, you need minimalist makeup so you can get ready fast! And I love sharing tips that I personally use for quick and easy style and beauty solutions. In this post, I’ll share the products I used to create a natural makeup look I wore to get ready for a couple of afternoon appointments. It would also be great for a weekend outing with the fam!

Create a Minimalist Makeup Look with a Few Essential Products
Drugstore vs. Luxury
As you can see from the flat lay of the products I used, this is a perfect example of how I love to combine drugstore and luxury beauty products. I do the same with fashion items, all the time. I simply use what I think works best. Sometimes, inexpensive products are actually the best. However, sometimes the high-end products are totally worth the investment and will actually save you money in the long run.
I truly enjoy helping you save time and money by sharing my recommendations on which products to buy so you don’t have to find out through trial and error. What are friends for??
Minimalist Foundation
Chanel Les Beiges
In a recent Chanel un-boxing video that I shared on my IGTV, I unboxed the Les Beiges Water-Fresh Tint foundation that I’ve been so excited to try. This is an ultralight foundation with little micro-bead pigments. Therefore, it’s ideal for a minimal makeup look.
The brush that’s included with the foundation is used to crush the pigments on the back of your hand before applying to the face. I absolutely love this foundation, because I like wearing really light-weight, natural looking makeup. Anything too heavy settles into my pores and fine lines, and makes me look older. (Not cool!😂)
This one is luminous and light weight and it feels great on my skin. Therefore, it would also be great to apply alone for a “No Makeup” look to even out the skin tone.
For my minimal makeup look, I applied this foundation over my moisturizer and undereye concealer (mine is Nars Soft Matte Complete Concealer in Vanilla). Here is the before + after with only foundation and concealer applied in the “After” photo (no filters):
Minimal Eye Makeup
Natural-Looking Eye Shadow
Lids
On my lids, I first applied Thrive Causemetics Brilliant Eye Brightener in “Aurora” to my lids. This shade is a pretty Rose Gold shimmer, and I’ve been obsessed with anything Rose Gold for the last couple of years.
The product is a cream eye pencil which instantly brightens and highlights the eye, helping you look refreshed. Therefore, it’s perfect for tired mommas! As I said, I applied it to my lids in the traditional fashion. However, be sure to check out the Thrive Causemetics website for plenty of video tutorials on how to apply this product as a brightener.
Furthermore, I really like buying from this company, because with every purchase they donate to a variety of important causes that help women.
Highlight
For my highlight, I applied the lightest shade in this palette by L’oreal.
The combination of shades from these two products brings out my eyes and adds just the right amount of neutral color for a pretty, natural look.
Pencil
Next, I applied Urban Decay Cosmetics 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in “Bourbon” As you can see from the nearly depleted pencil in the flat-lay, I use this shade a lot! It goes with almost everything. Furthermore, it’s perfect for a natural makeup look.
Mascara
Next, I curled my lashes. Then, I applied Covergirl Lash Blast Volume Waterproof Mascara, Volumizing Mascara, in “Black Brown”:
I use this mascara all the time, it’s my go-to mascara. First, it’s waterproof. Also, it doesn’t clump. Finally, it’s cheap as dirt.
I’ve tried a ton of expensive mascaras, and I always go back to this drugstore brand.
Highlight for a Natural Radiant Look
I highlighted my cheekbones, above my eyebrows, and my lips with YSL Touche Eclat All-Over Brightening Pen in Shade 02-Luminous Ivory. This has been my go-to highlighter for several years.
If you haven’t tried it, go to your nearest department or cosmetics store that carries YSL to get color matched, because it comes in many shades. The selected shade should be a little lighter than your foundation. It’s really easy to brush on and blend with a foundation brush.
This video shows how to apply the Touche Eclat in different areas:
Powder
I set the look with Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Powder by very lightly brushing over the cheeks, nose, and forehead.
Shimmer Highlight
Next, I added a touch of shimmer by again, very lightly applying Chanel Le Lion De Chanel Illuminating Powder on my cheeks and forehead in one upward semi-circular stroke. I love the look this product provides, rather than using blush when wearing a minimalist makeup look. It adds a pretty, natural glow.
Brows
I forgot to include the brow pencil I used in the flat lay. I wore the Infinity Waterproof Eyebrow Liner in shade “Audrey”, by Thrive Causemetics. This pencil is easy to use especially when you’re in a hurry. First, just fill in sparse areas. Finally, use the brush on the other end of the pencil to blend.
I’ve bought this pencil several times and am in love!
Lips
First, I applied Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in “Baci” as a stain to the lips. It dries totally matte, and the color stays put. For this minimal look, I wanted more of a “satin” finish on my lips. Therefore, once the Stila lipstick dried, I applied Yves Saint Laurent – Rouge Volupte Shine Oil-In-Stick Lipstick, no. 42. This is a great lipstick to carry with you to use on its own, or to wear over a matte shade to add a little luminoscity.
You Can’t Go Wrong with a Natural Look
As far as I’m concerned, a minimal makeup look is the way to go for everyday natural beauty. Sure, I like to glam it up for a night out, or for a holiday party or other special occasion. But minimalist makeup will make you look healthy, radiant, and most of all, confident in your appearance.
You’ll get ready fast, because you’ll be using fewer products. Furthermore, minimal makeup with the right products will make you look radiant!
